Get
Reaquainted
Somtimes it takes awhile to
get reaquainted with an old friend. If you´ve been
away for awhile, you can lose touch. Thankfully, there are
those special, the ones that when you meet again, turn out
to be even better that you remember. They make you feel
like you´ve never been away. Kawasaki ZR1100 are like
this. It´s a lean, powerful machine that harks back
to the familiar "musclebike" of the late 70s and
early 80s, but bristles with modern 90s, but simply the
best in the 21 century. The formula is pure and basic: there´s
a big 1.062 cc air-cooled, in-line four with mile-wide torque,
that gets with the program the moment you open the throttle.
And with a hightensile steel double-cradle frame, fat 43
mm fork tubes, damping and preload adjustable gas-charged
shocks and state-of-the-art disc braces, the ZR is firmly
entrenched in the present, offering overall performance.
The ZR1100 also offers something else: The opportunity to
take a basic machine and personalize it to showcase your
sense of style and riding preference. Ther´s no doubt
that today´s motorcycles are better that ever. But,
if your heart feels a longing for the best parts of the
past with a healthy apprcitaion of the present, you owe
it to your self to check out the ZR1100. It´s the
perfect oppurtunity to get reacquainted with the one bike
you truly love.
I
am a ZR1100
When I have a mission, it consumes
me. I will not be satisfied until the job is done. I have
a strong sense of duty, and a strong sense of direction. Changes
in the tide don't phase me - I always know which way the wind
blows, and I know how to compensate for it. I get on poorly
with motorcyles that is comparing them to myself.
On the road again
I have been on the roads since
1966. Then I had my first bike, a Honda CB50, but 1968 I got
my first real bike a BSA Super Rocket 650, 1958. Since then
I have been owner of many bikes. Most classic British bikes.
I have to say that my ZR1100 is one of the Best bike that
I have owned. Now I have my ZR and Triumph T160, 75. Both
are like brand new. My ZR shows 9000 miles on the meter when
I write these notes from new and has been treaded like one
of the family member from the start.
