The presentation of the museum and visits of students have played an important role for the museum since its opening in 1976. In the last few years, it has become increasingly popular for the creation of student materials and individual research of students for university thesis work, school and other projects. Students of the Universities in Reykjavik, Akureyri and Hólar have been using the museum and its exhibitions for research and other educational purposes.

This work of the museum has intensified and increased of the years, not only for Icelandic students, but also more and more for artists and designers from other parts of the world.
