The Icelandic National League of North America - Recipes - Has some recipes for pancakes, cakes and breads.

Recipes from Virtually, Virtual Iceland - More recipes, including some for fish and lamb/mutton.

Ever since I first visited Netcooks, I have been longing to try some of the recipes there. They don't have many Icelandic recipes - but they do have a whole lot of recipes from other countries. You can browse their recipe collection, submit recipes, or post a message on the board.

Geography & Geology

Desert in Iceland - One of the features that charm many visitors to Iceland is the black desert landscape of the central highlands. But behind the bleakly beautiful highlands vistas there lies a serious problem: soil erosion. This page, a part of the The Agricultural Research Institute's web, explains the problem.
