Strokkur

Strokkur, The Churn, geyser about to erupt.
Second in magnitude only to The Great Geysir
itself, Strokkur is a part of the hot spring area
in Haukadalur, in the southern part of Iceland.
Haukadalur, Falcon Valley, is one of the most
famous places in Icelandic history. A part of the
settlement of Ketilbjörn gamli, Ketilbjorn the old,
and his descendants established Haukadalur as
a place of learning and power.
The stamp was issued in 1991 with a face value of 31 krónur.
