The Gyrfalcon's main diet is the Rock Ptarmigan, which has great influence on the stock size of the Gyrfalcon. Other items on the menu include various types of ducks, sea birds and moor birds.

The stamp was issued in 1992 with a face value of 10 krónur,
and in co-operation with the WWF.
