Haförn - White-tailed Sea Eagle

The White-tailed Sea Eagle is Iceland's largest
Bird of Prey and is easily recognizable by the short, white tail and the white head in the adults. The young are uniformly dark in colour. The White-tailed Sea Eagle was hunted almost
to extinction, but is protected the year round, and the local population is estimated at 35-40 breeding pairs.
Length is about 100 cms - about 40 inches.
The stamp was issued in 1966 with a face value of 50 krónur.
