Corvus corax

The Raven is the largest of the corvid birds in Europe. Often associated with mischief and thievery, the Raven is also credited with warning people of impending avalanches and other dangers. Folklore has it that the Ravens gather in each community in the autumn, and divide the farms between themselves, the main rule being a farm for each two ravens. Length is about 65 cms - about 26 inches.
The stamp was issued in 1981 with a face value of 2 krónur.
