Lundi - Puffin
Fatercula arctica

The Puffin, or the "Preacher" as it is affectionately known in Iceland, is a migratory visitor during summer. A fisheater, the Puffin dives for his catch, and emerges with it in the beak, arranged with head and tail alternating. The main characteristic of the Puffin is the colourful beak. Length is about 33 cms - about 13 inches.
The stamp was issued in 1980 with a face value of 1.70 krónur.
