Hávella - Long-tailed Duck
Clangula hyemalis

The Long-tailed Duck is a bird of the Arctic, either resident or migratory in Iceland, coming here for the winter, the main breeding grounds being in the far North. The stamp shows two drakes in the foreground, and a female in the background. Length of the drake is about 55 cms - about 22 inches, and that of the female about 38 cms - about 15 inches.
The stamp was issued in 1988 with a face value of 30 krónur.
