The Black-tailed Godwit is a migratory bird in Iceland, which has been expanding its territory. For a long time the Black-tailed Godwit nested in a small area in the southern part of Iceland, but is now common all around the country. The male is a little smaller than the female. Length is about 40 cms - about 16 inches.
