I am an amatour genealogist, my traide is Master Carpanter, but at the moment I work at sea.
My premium interest is genealogy, especally clans from Snæfellsnes Iceland. Gase at my Data page for a more thorugh listing of what I am fishing for. Due to the nature of the Data I am looking for, the Data pages are in Icelandic only, for now. It is mostly names and places, so a knowledge of the Icalandic language is not needed. If you need assistance please e-mail me. In the last few years I have been cataloging my genealogy through the centuries. Warious folks, also many publications and books, have lend me a hand during this task. I reckon that there are many people that can assist me by providing information about families, they might know from the Snaefellsnes area of Iceland. Many Icalnders migrated to Canada and the USA in the 1700 and 1800 hundreds, and there is an ocean of knowledge among many there, about Icelanders and their families, present and past. I am now requesting assistance from anybody that reads this. The family I am mainly interested in is from Bjarnafoss in Stadarsveit on Snaefellsnes. They are the descendants of Arni Olafsson b. around 1740 and Margtet Gisladottir b. around 1740. Their domicile was at Bjarnarfoss from about 1765 - 1806. This is a long time and are all their children bourn there. Perhaps we can call this family the Bjarnarfoss clan, that will be the name I will destingush then by. Not much is known about this couple, but Arni is decribed in a few posterity listings, where through his ofsprings he is traced. No knowledge what so ever is about their parents. What I am hoping for is that folks like you that are wondering the web, will have some information about who are the descendants of those people, from Snaefellsnes, that where bourn in the last century and to our days. I will do my best to display the names of there fokls, hoping that you will be able to shead some light for me. What I am looking for is: name, birthdate and place, deathdate and place, marital status and date, occupation, residence, children and spouces. |
