Roxie Shayne, played by Kristi Ferrell, joined Guiding Light in 1984 and left in 1988. Roxie is the sister of Reva and the daughter of Hawk and Sarah. When she appeared in Springfield, she soon got involved with Rick Bauer. Rick and Roxie were very good together, I think. Roxie's old abusive boyfriend then turned up in Springfield and things began to look kind of complicated. Rick later found out that Mindy Lewis had brought him to Springfield to break up his relationship with Roxie. That pushed him away from Mindy but closer to Roxie. Roxie took a job as Billy Lewis's assistant at Lewis Oil. Kyle Sampson then turned up in Springfield and blackmailed Roxie into having sex with him since he knew her when she was a hooker in Tulsa. Kyle threatened to tell Rick about her past if she didn't spy for him at Lewis Oil. Billy eventually found out about Roxie but he forgave her when she rushed to Alaska to save him from a bad business deal. On her way to the airport, Roxie had an accident and lost her memory.

She then got a job as a hooker at a brothel. Diamond ran the brothel and soon started calling Roxie Rosie Smith. Rick finally found out where she was but when he arrived at the brothel, he found Roxie in bed with Kurt Corday. He rushed away angry as hell, calling her a whore. Roxie of course didn't know who Rick was so it didn't affect her very much. Kurt however fell in love with Roxie and surprised her with an Eskimo marriage. Roxie and Kurt honeymooned in an igloo. Rick told Roxie's sister Reva where she was and she and Kyle brought Roxie back to Springfield. Kurt and Roxie/Rosie settled down in Springfield and Kurt started managing Company. Rick helped Roxie regain her memory and soon she remembered her past with him. Rick also found out that Roxie had been raped by a guy named Bubba when she was only a kid. Roxie and Kurt's marriage was annulled and now she and Rick could get on with their lives.

Rick soon started spying on Kurt and found out that he was an illegal alien from Canada. Rick contacted the immigration officials an told them that Kurt was staying in Springfield illegaly. To keep Kurt in the country, Roxie married him again, disappointing Rick a great deal. The immigration then gave Kurt his "Green Card" and now he could stay in the country. Kurt and Roxie's marriage was annulled again. Rick forgave Roxie for marrying Kurt again and they decided to move in together. Roxie then entered the Sampson Girl contest along with Mindy and Beth. Mindy of course won the contest and a disappointed Roxie had sex with Jackson Freemont. When Rick found out that Roxie had been unfaithful to him, they broke up. Roxie then got involved with Rick's cousin Johnny Bauer. They were very happy together. Then Johnny was diagnosed with cancer!

Johnny totally gave up on life and decided to kill himself, but thankfully he was saved. Rick was Johnny's doctor along with Fletcer's sister Meredith Reade. Johnny began pushing Rick and Roxie back together knowing their past history together. Johnny, Roxie and Rick went to England together and Rick and Roxie kissed and almost had sex. When they got back to Springfield, Johnny had taken a turn for the worst. The pressure of dealing with Johnny's cancer was to much for Roxie however and she had a nervous breakdown. She was institutionalized at the time Johnny got cured. Johnny then got involvrd with Chelsea Reardon but when he received word that Roxie was making progress in her treatment, he rushed off to be with her. Neither Johnny or Roxie have been in Springfield since. I personally really miss them.
