Joshua Lewis, played by Robert Newman, first arrived in Springfield in 1981 but went away in 1984. Josh came back in 1986 but went away again in 1991. Then in 1993, he came back and has been with us ever since. When Josh first arrived in Springfield, he was very interested in a woman named Morgan Richards, but Morgan was already married to Kelly Nelson. Kelly was uncomfortable with Josh's interest in his wife so he knocked him over and Josh backed off. At this time Josh was managing Floyd Parker's singing career but he quit when Floyed found out that his wife had been sleeping with Josh. That ended Floyd's singing career. Meanwhile, Josh's brother Billy arrived in Springfield with his daughter Mindy. Billy was there to make a deal with Alan Spaulding for Lewis oil. At this time Josh, Ross Marler and Amanda Spaulding created a company called LTA. When Ross started dating Trish Lewis, Amanda sold her share of the company to Billy. Now Josh and Billy were back in business together.

Soon after that, Josh's old flame Reva Shayne came to town. Reva had been brought to Springfield by Alan Spaulding to break up Billy and Vanessa. Reva didn't succeed however and got involved with Josh again. Josh and Reva were planning to get married, but when Josh found out that Reva had been brought to Springfield to break up his brother's marriage, he forgot all about it. Reva then got involved with Josh's father H.B. and after a short time they got married. Josh was very upset because of this foolishness and was sure that Reva only married him for his money. Josh got into a car accident and paralyzed himself. Josh was sure that he wouldn't recover and he gave up on everything. Josh later moved in with H.B. and Reva to get well but that was a mistake because Reva fell in love with Josh all over again.

Reva climbed into Josh's bed one night but when Billy found them together, he threw her out of the house. Reva rushed to her home town Tulsa and stayed there for a some time. When H.B. got sick she rushed back to be with him. Reva discovered that she was going to have H.B.'s baby and that was the boost H.B. needed to get well. Josh however left town to work at an oil rig in Mexico, leaving Reva lonely and disappointed. Reva lost the baby, but stayed with H.B. for awhile. Than a man named Kyle Sampson arrived in Springfield. Reva fell in love with Kyle and asked H.B. for a divorce, but H.B. refused. After a lot of convincing H.B. finally gave up and gave Reva the divorce. Now Reva and Kyle could get married and be happy.

Kyle and Reva's happiness was wery brief though. Their relationship was over when Kyle's ex-girlfriend Maeve Stoddard came to town. Maeve was brought to Springfield by Kyle's mother, Sally Gleason. Kyle and Maeve made love and of course Maeve got pregnant. Kyle married Maeve on New Year's Eve and Reva was so upset thet she jumped off a bridge trying to kill herself. She was saved though, but because of the suicide attempt, she became famous. Her good friend Fletcher wrote about her bravery in the journal and everyone admired her courage. When Mave's baby was born, she told everyone that it had been stillborn. Kyle left Maeve and got involved with Reva again.

They were planning on getting married but when Joshua got back to Springfield (in 1986), she realized that she loved Josh more than Kyle. At this time someone wanted Josh dead. Reva and Josh's family stood by him through the whole thing. When Josh found out who was trying to kill him, he had them arrested and he and Reva could finally be happy. After that, Reva found out that she was carrying Josh's baby. She was afraid that the baby might be Kyle's but she didn't tell anyone. Josh went to Venezuela and returned with his good friend Will Jeffries. Reva's baby was born the same day as Josh and Will returned.

Because of Reva's fear of the baby's parentage, she looked for the baby's files to find out the baby's blood type. The baby's blood type was the same as Kyle's so little Marah couldn't be Josh's. She kept the truth from Josh and his family. When Josh eventually found out the truth, he flipped out and left Reva. Reva told him, she did what she thought was right but that didn't make any difference to him. Reva found out that Josh had a wife named Sonni Carrera. Josh had married Sonni when he was in Venezuela two years ago but Sonni had died in a hiking accident on their honeymoon. Then Sonni arrived in Springfield alive and well. At this time Alan Spaulding had learned that Marah really was Josh's baby but he kept the truth from him in order to hold on to Reva.

Josh however was shocked to find out that his wife was still alive. Sonni and Josh got remarried and Reva and Alan got romantically involved. At this time Sonni was carrying on an affair with Josh's good friend Will. In fact, Sonni really wasn't Sonni but her evil twin sister Solita. Will and Sonni/Solita planned to kill Josh and leave town with his fortune. Reva found out that Sonni was sleeping with Will and photographed it. Reva told Josh about this (with out showing him the pictures though) and Josh rushed to Will's apartment and found Will and Sonni together. Like an idiot Josh believed that it was all very innocent. Sonni told Josh that she and Will were planning a surprise for him. Sonni was afraid that he loved Reva more so she faked her own pregnancy. Reva thought the baby was Will's.

After this, Sonni developed real feelings for Josh and when Will found out the truth, he decided to kill Josh right away. Will set Josh up to drive off a bridge but Reva was nearby and jumped into the ice water to save Joshua but had to fight for her own life. Reva suffered a cardiac arrest leaving Josh guilty and angry. Alan and Josh argued about who should take care of Marah if Reva would die. After a lot of convincing, Josh finally signed custody over to Alan. Alan however brought in the minister and married Reva half-conscious. At this time, Sonni got pregnant for real but lost the baby later due to a fight with Reva (who was now alive and well). Sonni then got her hands on Reva's pictures but unfortunately for her, Reva stole them back.

Will wanted Sonni to leave town right away and threatened to kill Josh. Sonni hit him over the head to protect him. She thought she'd killed him and set him adrift in a boat but later Will came back very much alive. Will had amnesia due to the blow to the head so he didn't remember anything about Sonni or Josh. Sonni then kidnapped Will's mother and took her to Venezuela. Reva shoved Josh the pictures of Will and Sooni and later they went to Venezuela to investigate Sooni. Soon they found out the truth about Sonni/Solita and Will. They made love but then Josh was arrested for attempted murder. Sonni had tricked Will into telling the police that Josh was the one who had knocked him out. Reva found out the truth and Josh was released. Sonni then fired a gun at Alan Spaulding and Will enjected him. Sonni also knocked out Reva. Thankfully Alan and Reva were saved. Sonni turned out to be Sonni after all. She had Multiple Personal disorder and had assumed the identity of her dead twin sister, Solita.

Sonni and Josh got a divorce so Reva and Josh could be happy again. Reva and Josh got married and she gave birth to Shayne Lewis. Reva then started suffering from serious post partum depression so Josh hired Harley to help Reva with the kids. While Reva and Josh were on a vacation, Reva drove off into the ocean. With Harley's help, Josh overcame the death of his wife. Josh and Harley got involved and later he proposed to her and she accepted. But when Billy told Josh that he had seen Reva on an Italian TV show, he left Harley and left for Italy and didn't return until 1993. Then he got involved with Tangie Hill but unfortunately it didn't work out at all. Tangie was nevar one of my favorites.

In 1995 Josh met a woman named Annie Dutton. Annie was a nurse at Cedars. Josh and Annie got married but their relationship was doomed when Reva turned out to be alive. Marah and Shayne rejected their real mother and of course that made Reva very sad. Reva got involved with Alan again and he tried to help her get custody of the kids. Reva saw that Marah and Shayne wanted Annie to be their mother so she backed off. When Josh and Reva went to Cross Creek, they finally admitted their feelings for each other. Reva still didn't want to ruin Josh's marrige so she married Buzz Cooper. Annie however faked her own pregnancy, trying to keep Josh from Reva. That didn't work out so she went to a clinic and got pregnant by an anonymous doner. Reva soon realized that her marrying Buzz was a mistake so she filed for a divorce.

Then Reva was accused of trying to murder Anni's baby. Annie had lost the baby but she told everyone that Reva had pushed her down the stairs at Amanda's house. Alan brought Fran to the trail to testify against Annie, but Annie eventually forgave him. Reva got off the hook and she and Josh moved into Reva's house planning the rest of their lives together. They just had to wait for the divorce to be final. They performed a private ceremony at Cross Creek for themselves. Annie however tryed everything she could to ruin Reva, even using Reva's long lost sister Cassie Layne to get what she wanted. When Josh's divorce became final, Annie made plans to marry Alan and take over Lewis. But it didn't work out because Reva found out that Annie had faked her own death in Chicago and that she was still legally married to a man named Eddie Banks. Annie escaped from jail and kidnapped Reva. Michael cloned Reva and Josh chased the clones while Reva was alive on an island in Florida.

Josh and Reva eventually found each other again. Annie disappeared for some time but came back as Teri. She kept on trying to break Josh and Reva up but didn't succeed. She soon left Springfield again. Reva and Josh got married again, finally. It was a very short marriage though because Josh couldn't handle Reva's past. They got divorced. Reva got involved with Noah but was still thinking of her true love Josh. Josh soon fell in love with Olivia Spencer, and later married her. What will Reva do? Stay tuned.
