H.B. Lewis was played by the late Larry Gates. Larry was H.B. from 1983 to 1990 and then again in 1996.H.B. had a close relationship with his son Billy Lewis and for some reason he has always been more fond of him than the rest of his children H.B. has three children-Trish Lewis, Josh Lewis and of course Billy. H.B also had a close relationship with his granddaughter, Mindy.
H.B.has been married twice, first to the great Miss Martha and then to Reva Shayne. His marriage to Reva was a mistake from the beginning. At the time they were married, Reva was still in love with H.B.'s son, Joshua(her old flame) and when Joshua left town due to Reva's marriage to his father, Reve got involved with Kyle Sampson. That ended H.B. and Reva's marriage. Now Reva could have Kyle all to herself. But their happiness was over however when Maeve (Kyle´s old flame)came back. H.B.'s old girlfriend, Sally Gleason brought her to break up Kyle and Reva. At that time Billy Lewis had learned that Sally Gleason was really his mother but not Miss Martha. Billy was furious but eventually he forgave his father and accepted Sally as his mother. It was very sad for H.B. when Sally died because of a heart attack. H.B. had always been very fond of Sally, even when he was married to Miss Martha.
H.B.'s next romance was Alexandra Spaulding. Their affair was also doomed from the beginning. She lied to him about his own grandchild. Josh had a baby with Reva but they all thought the baby was Kyle's but Alexandra knew all along that little Marah was Josh's. The reason Alex didn't tell anyone the truth was because her dear brother Alan didn't want her to. Alan was keeping the truth from the Lewises in order to hold on to Reva who he loved (in his own way at least). At this time Alexandra and Phillip were also planning on merging the two companies. H.B. died in 1996. His funeral was very memorable. His last phone call was from France were he suffered a mild heart attack. I still miss H.B. very much.
