Dinah Marler has been portrayed by three different actresses. The first Dinah was Jennifer Gatti and she was Dinah from 1986 to 1987. Then there was Paige Turco. Paige was Dinah from 1987 to 1988. The next Dinah was Wendy Moniz and she was Dinah from 1995 to 1999. Dinah is the daughter of Ross Marler and Vanessa Chamberlain. When Vanessa was a teenager she gave little Dinah up for adoption. When Dinah first came to Springfield, she was looking for her adopted sister Audra. She broke into Phillip Spaulding's car and tried to come on to him but he wasn't interested. When Phillip realized she had no place to go, he and Beth let her stay at the mansion with them.

Later Dinah moved into Lillian's house and they became like mother and daughter. Dinah then found out that India's adopted child Dorie was her long lost sister. When Dinah began school, she wasn't very popular. The other girls were picking on her and making fun of her because she had been raised up in a carnival. Dinah then started dating a boy named Cameron Stewart. Cam was very popular and everyone wanted to be his friend. Soon, Dinah was kidnapped by the carnival-people and it was then that she realized that Ross and Vaneesa were her parents. With the help of the police, Ross and Vanessa saved Dinah from those creeps and could finally be happy with their long lost daughter.

In 1987, Alan-Michael came to town and became Dinah and Cameron's friend. At that time Cameron started seeing Johnny Bauer's sister, Lacey and that ended Dinah and Cameron's relationship. Dinah started dating Alan-Michael however and they were together for some time. One night when Dinah and Alan-Michael were out on Alan-Michael's stolen motorcycle, they crashed into a car with a pregnant girl inside. The girl was Harley Cooper and she had gone into labor. Dinah helped her deliver the child in the back seat of the car. Dinah and Harley became very good friends, in fact Dinah was with Harley when she gave her baby up.

Cameron and Harley started dating but Harley didn't tell him that she had a baby. At this time Cameron's father George Stewart was taking drugs and Dinah suspected that he was also dealing but Cameron didn't believe her. One night when George was drunk, he came on to Dinah and kissed her. She didn't tell Cameron about this bacause she was afraid of hurting him so she kept the truth for herself. Eventually Cameron saw what a creep his father was and he and Dinah got him arrested. The fact that Dinah was more interested in Cameron's personal problems made Alan-Michael very jealous and eventually he and Dinah broke up. Alan-Michael then turned to Harley and later they got married. In 1989 Dinah left for Paris and didn't return until 1995.

When she was finally home, she was very bitter about her strained relationship with her mother. She planned to get her hands on Vanessa's trust fund but that didn't work out. Then she got married to Roger Thorpe and finally got her hands on her mother's money but unfortunately for Dinah, Roger stole all of it. Dinah then got involved with Hart Jessup and they were together for awhile. Then Hart fell in love with Cassie Layne, leaving Dinah all alone. Now Dinah blames her mother(of course) for their break up and swears revenge. Then she found out that she was pregnant. She was very happy about her baby but unfortunately she had a miscarriage and the worst part is, Hart is partly responsible. Hart felt very guilty and decided to marry Dinah disappointing Cassie a great deal. Dinah then shot Hart and fled town with the help of her mother. I'm still sure we have not heard the last of Dinah.
