Chelsea Reardon

Chelsea Reardon, played by the great Kassie Wesley De Paive, joined Guiding Light in 1986. She left though in 1991 and hasn't been back. Chelsea is a singer and a very good one. When she arrived in Springfield, she was about to get married to a man named Jean-Claude Lavel but when they were driving from the airport they got into a horrible car accident. They crashed Phillip Spaulding's car and poor Jean-Claude died. Chelsea sued Dr Rick Bauer for malpractice but when she found out that Jean-Claude had been diabetic, she dropped the charges. Rick eventually forgave Chelsea and soon they were the best of friends.

Chelsea started dating Phillip and soon he gave her a job as his assistant. Phillip was working on an art investigation at the time and Chelsea was helping him. Due to this dangerous investigation, they almost got killed. Chelsea then quit as his assistant but they still remained lovers. There was just one problem. Phillip had just lost the love of his life Beth Raines and was still obsessed with her and that made Chelsea rather frustrated. At this time, Jackson Freemont started working as Chelsea's business manager. Phillip and Chelsea got into a fight and broke up. Later Phillip wrote Chelsea a letter telling her his real feelings for her but Jackson found it and tore it up. When Chelsea found out about the letter, she and Phillip got back together.

When Phillip was just about to propose to Chelsea, he found out something about Chelsea's past that made him forget all about the engagement. Chelsea had had an affair with a married man while she was in New York and for some reason Phillip felt betrayed. They broke up again and Chelsea got involved with Johnny Bauer, who was overcoming cancer at the time. They had a very charming relationship and were even living together. At their wedding, Chelsea collapsed. She had been poisoned by someone. Frank Cooper's girlfriend, Dana was accused of this and eventually, she was arrested. Dana figured out that a woman named Rea, who was Chelsea's old roommate, was the one responsible but before she could go to the authorities, Rea got to her and hurt her badly. Later, Rea tried to shoot Chelsea but she was stopped and put to jail.

The reason Rea had been terrorizing Chelsea was because she blamed her for her brother's mental condition. Chelsea had never returned her brother's affections so she decided to seek revenge. But soon after that, Chelsea and Johnny got on with their wedding plans. Johnny however found out that his old girlfriend was making progress in her psychiatric treatment in Chicago. Chelsea realized that Johnny loved Roxie more than her so she broke up the engagement. Johnny went to Chicaco to be with Roxie and Chelsea left for Europe to concentrate on her singing.
