Billy Lewis, played by Jordan Clarke, joined Guiding Light in 1982 but left in 1986. In 1989, he returned but left again in 1994. In 1996 he returned again and has been with us ever since. Billy came to town with his teenage daughter Mindy Lewis and began working in the oil business with his family. Billy met a woman named Vanessa Chamberlain and later they made plans to get married. Then Billy's ex-wife Reva Shayne came to town, brought by Alan Spaulding. Reva tried to break up Billy and Vanessa but she didn't succeed. Billy and Vanessa got married and Reva got involved with Billy's brother Joshua. Vanessa got pregnant and later gave birth to Bill Lewis. Billy also has a son with Reva, named Dylan Lewis.

Billy and Vanessa's marriage was over however when Billy found out that Vanessa and Ross had a daughter together out there somewhere. Billy divorced Vanessa and left for Venezuela. Billy returned though in 1989 and made plans to marry Vanessa again. Billy is a recovering alcoholic and at that time he fell off the wagon again. Billy married Nadine Cooper but his heart was still with Vanessa. When Nadine realized that Billy really wanted Vanessa, she faked her own pregnancy. Bridget Reardon was pregnant with her son Peter at the time and Nadine planned to adopt Peter and pretend that he was really her own. When Billy found out about this, he left her and got involved with Vanessa again. They got married again and adopted Peter, planning to raise him as their own.

At this time Billy's daughter Mindy got involved with Roger Thorpe. Billy hated Roger and decided to protect his daughter. He shot Roger and of course he was arrested. Billy went to prison and left Guiding Light. When he returned in 1996, he got back to the family business. Billy fell in love with Reva's sister Cassie Layne but that didn't work out. Billy still loves Vanessa but now she's married to Matt Reardon and I don't think they'll get married for the third time.
